Hey guys! Guess what today is… Day 1 of my candida/bacterial overgrowth protocol! Ok so… I’m not the best person at taking pills. This morning I had to take 4 pills the size of a horse tranquilizer! (I’m over exaggerating) Regardless, I’m feeling beyond excited and grateful to be able to have this opportunity! My whole life I’ve been struggling with psoriasis, so if this could shed a little light I would be eternally grateful. I’m sure there are several of you out there who can relate. I’m hoping that by creating this blog, I can reach others who are also suffering from psoriasis and can help be a positive light for them! It’s a tough thing to deal with, people constantly asking you what it is, and if it’s “contagious”. I think the most important thing we can do is educate ourselves! If you don’t want to take a steroid medication, then don’t! Personally I don’t believe in them. Several dermatologists have told me, “the only way to get rid of it, is with a steroid.” Umm… I don’t buy it! I believe that a steroid is like putting a Band-Aid on a wound. Sure it may “clear your skin”, but without treating the root of the problem (from the inside!) It will just continue to come back.
So! Day 1 of the protocol consists of a number of probiotics, and a clean diet! One of the hardest parts for me, is going to be clean eating! I LOVE cookies, chocolate, and all that other wonderful sweets! BUT I think I’d like clear skin more! This is NOT going to be easy! It’s day one, and I’m already craving all the junk I’d probably be eating (Bread, pasta, cookies)! Yesterday I decided to meal prep to get ready for the drastic change I was about to encounter. I created egg muffins! mm mm mmmm they’re actually amazing and easy to make! You can make as many as you’d like and store them in the freezer! Just take them out the night before, and BAM! breakfast on the go and healthy! I’m sure I’ll be hangry before I know it! eyes on the prize!
